The URJC complies with the obligations arising from Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (hereinafter the GDPR), Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the protection of personal data and the guarantee of digital rights, and other data protection legislation.

URJC is particularly committed to protecting the personal data of users of the services accessed via its website and its online portal.

Furthermore, URJC maintains a Register of Processing Activities published on its website, which contains an up-to-date record of all personal data processing it carries out and sets out all the specific details relating to each processing operation undertaken.

Purpose of personal data processing

The purpose for which URJC processes personal data will depend on each specific processing operation. The specific personal data processing operations carried out at the University, and their purposes, are set out in the Record of Processing Activities, which is constantly updated.

Legal bases for data processing

The URJC processes users’ personal data lawfully and transparently, in accordance with the legal bases set out in Article 6 of the GDPR, based on the consent of the data subjects.

Data retention

Personal data will be retained for the periods necessary to fulfil the intended purposes and, in all cases, in compliance with legal requirements, which are specified for each processing operation in the URJC’s Register of Processing Activities.

All of the above is without prejudice to the blocking of such data, where so required by law.

Rights of data subjects

Data subjects may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection with the Rey Juan Carlos University.

To do so, they must submit a written request addressed to the Rey Juan Carlos University, c/ Tulipán S/N, 28933, Móstoles – Madrid, either in person at the University’s Registries or via the URJC’s online portal. Furthermore, they may request information on exercising their rights from the Data Protection Officer at protecciondedatos@urjc.es

Likewise, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency if they consider that their rights have not been adequately addressed.
